Convenance of an iPhone camera

Posted in Photography on September 13, 2013 by Paul Tombleson

With the birth of my first Grandson it seems the iPhone is the go to camera not only to take a pic but to share  pic’s quickly as well. iPhone is now the worlds number one camera… Does anyone make phone calls anymore?

97% of these images are taken on an iPhone 4s… And that model is only half as good as the new 5s… Really would like to have an iPhone 5s! But of course it is not really about the camera… its about how you capture the subject. For me this is a no brainer, this subject makes the camera look good!  Biased… Oh yes, but thanks iPhone for your help… 😉

The Land Down Under offers more that just a Vegemite Sandwich. While settled hundreds of thousands of years ago by an ancient mystical peoples commonly known today as Aboriginals it is only in the last hundred plus years that Australia had been brought to the fore. The diversity of wild life here is extraordinary for a Land commonly thought to be a big Desert.

Birds dominate the landscape and skies with a constant chatter both background and in your face loud. At my location on Sydney’s Northern Beaches tucked away on the side of a mini rain forest valley the birds wake you up and put you to sleep.

Cockatoos waiting to be fed

The Cockatoos are brash and can become demanding of food once fed. I have learned that one the hard way after they tore up the deck and wooden house siding.

The Kookaburras which are the largest Kingfisher in the world, really get loud in a group and are often referred to as Laughing Kookaburras because of the cackle.

On the Mend

Singing (screeching) in the Rain

It has been some time since my last post. An under statement I know, and I could offer many reasons not the least being my smashed  Patella (knee cap) into 3 pieces. Anyhow with all the rain, flooding and grey skies it still remains a great time to photograph and be (remain) creative.

Under Cover Cockie

Remember flower (foliage) photography works best not in bright sunshine but in subdued light and rainy overcast days offer just that. Even birds taking shelter offer an opportunity for a image worth keeping. So get out there and shoot because you never know what lurks behind a lens cap.

Just take that cap off and look… at that face!.
