White Christmas 2010
Bing Crosby would be singing his heart out this Christmas as the East Coast was dusted white. Here in North Carolina we got 5-6 inches (12-15cm) making for a picture post card day.
While I dislike the cold I do enjoy the silence that comes with snow. The world is full of motion (falling snow) yet it takes place like a silent movie. Of course that all changes when you let the dog out for a romp and the subsequent making of yellow snow.
So I bundled up, filled the bird feeder with seed, grabbed the camera and spent an hour outside with Titus (my son’s 4 year old Boxer who was in town). The snow was so light and fluffy it flew like dust as we moved through it.
It continued to snow throughout the day and apart from the odd car passing down the street, the flutter of wings around the bird feeder it remained quiet and serene. Sitting there watching the flurries back lit by a neighbors festive colored lights is was indeed dream like. So now I can say that in the future when I hear the song “White Christmas” I will indeed be “dreaming of a white Christmas just like the one(s) I used to know”
I trust you had a wonderful Christmas and that it continues through the New Year. Time to break out that New 2011 calendar, y’all.
